Vivace! The 11th Annual Oʻahu Choral Society's Silent Auction and Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 6:30 pm at the Honolulu Country Club.
The proceeds from this gala event will be used in support of the Honolulu Symphony Chorus and Honolulu Chamber Choir for the 2012/2013 season. This is our only fundraising event of the year, and an important source of the funds we need in order to continue to provide top-quality choral music to the Honolulu community. Enjoy an evening filled with elegance and fun, from jazz music featuring the Joshua Kaye Trio to amazing auction items, great food and a couple of surprises!
This year's Dale R. Noble award recipient will be Carl Crosier.
Renowned conductor, harpsichordist and countertenor soloist Carl Crosier retired in 2011 after 38 years as Cantor of the Lutheran Church of Honolulu. Under his leadership, the LCH choir became known for its excellence and for its large and varied repertoire. He conducted highly acclaimed performances of Bach's major choral works including the St. Matthew Passion, St. John Passion, and the Mass in B minor, as well as historic performances of Claudio Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610.
